Deputy PM Ishaq Dar departs on maiden official visit to Afghanistan

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has headed to Kabul for a one-day official visit, leading a high-level delegation comprising key officials, including Special Representative for Afghanistan Ambassador Sadiq Khan and federal secretaries for commerce, railways, and interior. This visit aims to address strained relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, primarily due to security concerns and deportation issues. Before departing, Dar emphasized the importance of Pakistan’s relationship with its western neighbor. The talks in Kabul will focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in security, trade, and regional connectivity, with Dar meeting Afghan leaders, including Acting Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund and Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.
